^ The bronze-like colour of the Cobalt coating reduces friction and heat build-up ensuring outstanding durability and sharpness of the cutting edge. Workability is also improved because swarf and chips are less likely to adhere to the cutting surface. Cobalt-coated cutting tools outlast those which are not coated.
^^ When drilling stainless steel use low speed, high pressure, and cutting fluid. Otherwise, the stainless steel will overheat causing work hardening which will damage the step drill.
