Description

These hole saws have Tungsten Carbide Tipped (TCT) teeth that will cut through steel, stainless steel, ferrous and non-ferous metals and other materials that bi-metal hole saws struggle with. And because TCT can be resharpened the life of the tool is extended.

These are excellent for cutting holes in channel, i-beams, RSJ, tubing, flashings, spouting, steel plate, body panels, wood with nails, laminate, sheet metal, exhausts, galvanised pipe, ceramic wall tiles, bricks, pavers etc...

SPECIFICATIONS
Diameter 120mm
Maximum drilling depth 5mm*
Inside stop depth 17mm
3 flats shank fits 13mm chuck
Replaceable 6.0 x 60 mm pilot drill
Slug ejector spring

*This is the Manufacturers recommended maximum drilling depth. You can drill deeper (up to the depth of the inside stop) if you are careful to frequently pull back and clear the swarf from the cut to prevent jamming.

When cutting steel and other metals use a cutting fluid that is appropriate for the job. Once the teeth make contact with the work piece use constant pressure to avoid jamming and overheating. The spring on the centre drill ejects the disc and can be removed if a deeper cut is required.

To cut holes in ceramic tiles first drill a pilot hole with a masonry bit, but don't use hammer action or you will smash the tile. Use the TCT hole saw and keep it cool while drilling by spraying it with water (a trigger spray bottle works well). Take your time and use a slow speed and you will cut a nice clean hole.

For best results use a drill press vise (for all materials) to ensure the hole saw is held steady. Hand held power drills can be used but it's more difficult, especially when drilling bigger holes. Do not use hammer (impact) action regardless of the material being drilled.
