This is the tool you need for measuring close tolerances, down to 0.01 mm. It is supplied in a foam lined plastic case with a small adjustment spanner. And the spindle ratchet means it will measure with the same force every time which is very important at this measuring resolution.
An engineer compared these with a same spec Mitutoyo and said there was no difference in accuracy or reliability.
